Kanamean Nishitomiya Notice Regarding the Renovation of the Second-Floor Hallway and Gallery

Thank you very much for your continued patronage of Kanamean Nishitomiya.

In 2026, Kanamean Nishitomiya planned renovations for the first-floor reception area and the hallways on the first and second floors.

As scheduled, we completed renovations in January, focusing on the reception area and the first-floor hallway, to ensure an even smoother check-in process for our guests upon their arrival.

Following the renovation, the animals created by Kyoto craftsman Masaru Nishikawa now welcome our valued guests.

Guests can enjoy French jazz and Bossa Nova while comfortably checking in at the reception desk.

Furthermore, starting June 5th, we will renovate the staircase, second-floor hallway, and ceiling to create a gallery featuring works by ceramic artist Masayuki Imai and textile artist Takeo Sano, both of whom had deep connections with our predecessor. Please look forward to it.

We will continue to create a space where you can “feel the new within Kyoto's history and Kyoto's history within the new,” and we are dedicated to improving our inn to ensure our guests are even more satisfied and delighted.
(Please note that we will be closed from June 5 to 15, 2026, for renovations.)
